Why India??

I've been getting a lot of questions like, "Why are you going to India? Why would you choose to travel somewhere like that?" I have asked myself these questions numerous times. Why would I choose to travel to a land of poverty, disease, Hinduism, and filth? Why not tour Europe or New Zealand or Australia? What does India have to offer a student like me? I will try to answer these to the best of my ability before I leave.
First, I want to see my own life, my own blessings, and my own selfishness. Traveling in India will show me what life would be like if I didn't live in the land of the free. Heck even packing has shown me this! The luxuries I experience on a daily basis will be nonexistent. For the very first time I will see the two extremities of wealth. I want an experience that will shake me to the core. I want to come back a changed person.
Second, I want to glimpse what I hear about in my business classes. I have the opportunity to witness India's emerging presence in technology and outsourcing first hand. There are very few people who get the chance to take their textbook readings and experience them.
Lastly, I want to see my Lord in a way I never have before. I want to see his creation in a radical way. What better way to do this than to go somewhere completely new and strange?
So I hope that you are as excited about my trip as I am! When I return I will update you on all of my adventures. I will also tell you why I am glad I went and how my view on India changed. Please pray for my safety and acceptance of India's culture. God Bless!
